Cafe Strange Brew is a small, bustling cafe right in the heart of Shawlands, in the south side of Glasgow. Many of Glasgow’s cafes tend to stick to similar formulaic breakfast & brunch menus so it was a very pleasant surprise to find something interesting and different when going for brunch at Cafe Strange Brew.
Going in hungry resulted in 2 dishes being ordered. On the left, French toast with maple syrup, and on the right, Turkish Eggs…soft poached eggs in warmed garlicky yoghurt with chilli oil and toasted pitta. It should be noted that the French toast below is actually a half portion! You would get double that if you ordered a standard portion.
Be prepared to wait for a table as this place fills up fast. The service is super friendly and fast, there’s a lovely buzzy atmosphere, the food tastes fantastic and its clear that the whole place is run with love and passion. Its just so great to find somewhere with an interesting menu, it just makes you want to come back again and again to work your way through it!
