The hugely-popular fish restaurant and takeaway in Glasgow’s southside, CATCH Fish & Chips, will open a new takeaway at 570 Clarkston Road in Glasgow’s Netherlee at noon on Saturday 18th of February, with a home-delivery service being introduced the following week.
CATCH is the only Scottish business placed in the UK Top 10 by industry body Seafish in their 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards, in the category of Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year.
The original restaurant and takeaway is located at 186 Fenwick Road, Giffnock, and was opened by siblings Giancarlo and Fabia Celino in January 2015. Offering a wide breadth of options to visitors; from haddock suppers at the takeaway counter to fresh Scottish lobster and chilled Krug Champagne served in the dual-level restaurant; the business soon gained critical acclaim from visiting food journalists and public alike for the quality and freshness of produce and the stylish, contemporary interior decor.
The new Netherlee branch will initially employ 15 full-time and part-time staff in premises previously owned by the Night Star: a well-established Italian fish & chip shop which CATCH acquired following the retiral of its owners.
CATCH’s Giancarlo Celino describes the company’s significant investment in the back-to-brick refit of the new unit as delivering “a carbon copy of our Giffnock restaurant: the same tiles, the same counter tops, the same paint and, of course, run with the same attention to detail and quality that has contributed to the success of CATCH in Giffnock.”
